Within the valleys of southern central Mexico and the Golf coast, a giant is being stalked; the largest of it's american kin. This columbian mammoth treads carefully through the open grasslands of an increasingly forested ecosystem, that within each passing year becomes less suitable to sustain the animals massive frame. The hunter is a member of an ethnically diverse group of people, broadly tied together by their shared lithic traditions, called the clovis; they came into the Americas around 13,000 years ago.
For both species, this is a time of change. The warming climate and the over extensive predation will eventually cause the Mammoth population to dwindle, while the clovis, no longer able depend on the mega fauna their ancestors thrived upon, will be forced to diversify. Eventually the Mammoths will die out.
Humans however, have a different future ahead of them; they will be able to adapt and change the world around them. One day they'll look back on all this.
